The match between Senegal national football team and Morocco national football team had everything—confusion, controversy, and questionable decisions. CAF later ruled that Senegal forfeited the game when they left the pitch, awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory.
But let’s be real—Senegal came back onto the pitch. The referee allowed play to continue, even awarding a penalty to Morocco, which Brahim Díaz missed with a Panenka attempt. If the match was already considered forfeited, why allow the penalty in the first place?
Senegal fought, scored, and won 1-0 on the pitch. Months later, the result gets overturned and the trophy handed to Morocco. That doesn’t sit right at all.
Football should be decided on the pitch—not in boardrooms months later.
